Uganda, Tracking Gorilla and Chimpanzee

Day 1 ­ Sunday: Board your overnight international flight

Day 2 ­ Monday: Arrive at Entebbe Airport, where our tour director will meet you. He will transfer you to the Sheraton Hotel for a briefing and overnight stay. (D)

Day 3 ­ Tuesday:  After breakfast take the city tour. You will visit the Uganda Museum and Makerere University (the oldest institution of higher learning in east and central Africa). From there proceed to the famous Kasubi Tombs. The places of worship are Namirembe and Rugaga Cathedral. From there you have a clear view of Kampala City and Kibuli Mosque. Have lunch and then proceed to Mbarara. Stay overnight at the Lake View Hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 4 ­ Wednesday: Eat breakfast and then set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park. Dine for lunch at the White Horse Inn, Kabale. Visit Lake Bunyoyi and continue to Buhoma Tented Camp for dinner and an overnight stay. (B, L, D)

Day 5 ­ Thursday: Day of gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Tented Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 6 - Friday: Second day of gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Tented Camp.(B, L, D)

Day 7 ­ Saturday: This morning depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. View the Western Arm of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and crater lakes. Enjoy lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge. Then take the launch along the famous Kazinga Channel and view the game at close range. The park has an array of species including ­ elephant, buffalo, hippopotamus, antelope, baboon, chimpanzee, and the famous Kigezi tree climbing Lion. Have dinner and stay overnight at the Mweya Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 8 ­ Sunday: An early morning drive in the park. Then continue your drive into the Kyambura Gorge to go chimpanzee tracking.

In the evening, you will be taken for a game drive to the spectacular crater area. After, return to Mweya Lodge for an overnight stay. (B, L, D)

Day 9 ­ Monday: Morning tracking chimpanzee then return to Kampala. Have dinner and proceed to the Entebbe Airport for your evening departure for the USA. (B, L)

Day 10 ­ Tuesday: Arrive early afternoon.
