Ivory Coast Discovery Tour

Day 1 — Saturday: Depart New York/Kennedy Airport on Air France.

Day 2— Sunday: Arrive Abidjan in the morning [1805] where you will be met and transferred to the Ibis Plateau Hotel. Evening orientation meeting with your tour guide.

Day 3 — Monday: City tour visiting the luxurious Cocody area, the “Fanicao” washers of the Banco River at Adjame, the timber park at the Carena, Saint Paul Cathedral, the Art Museum at the Plateau and the picturesque market of Treichville. (B)

Day 4— Tuesday: Tour to Grand Bassam the first capital of Cote d’Ivoire. Grand Bassam remains an important seaside resort center. The first trading houses were built here. Visit the old quarter with the Museum of Costumes, the Wickerwork Center, the Ceramics Center, the Craft Center and the Souvenir Market for interesting shopping. (B)

Day 5 — Wednesday: Morning departure to Yamoussoukro, capital and administrative center of the country. On the way, stop at a Baule Village. Arrive Yamoussoukro and visit the famous Basilica of Notre Dame De La Paix. Lunch in town then take a city tour visiting the sacred crocodile lake, schools and the mosque. B,L

Day 6— Thursday: Morning departure for the village of Tiagba. This is a unique village that is constructed completely on stilts over water. Naturally, fishing is a way of life and residents have raised angling to an art form. Enjoy a typical lunch in the village. B,L

Day 7— Friday: Free day to relax, go to the beach, do some last minute shopping or take an optional tour. Evening transfer to the airport for your Air France departure.

Day 8— Arrive New York/Kennedy Airport in the late morning.
